Our architectural studio in Chicago is seeking an accomplished and technically skilled Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in converting design concepts into precise technical drawings and documents, ensuring the successful realization of architectural projects in the vibrant city of Chicago.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Drawing: Produce detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- BIM Implementation: Manage Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes, ensuring that the architectural team utilizes BIM technology efficiently and effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate design and construction efforts.
- Quality Control: Review drawings and documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design and safety standards.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and address technical issues during the design and construction phases, proposing solutions that align with project goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural software.
- Strong technical drawing and documentation skills.
- Sound understanding of architectural design principles and construction methods.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience as an architectural technologist is advantageous but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
